Chalet Neuf
THE LOCATION
Chalet 9 is located in Sixt-Fer-a-Cheval at the heart of the Grand Massif in the French Alps.
The area is known for its excellent skiing with a free ski bus connecting to the Grand-Massif gondola in Samoens (just 15mins away). From here you can access Samoens, Flaine, Morillon, Les Carroz. The area also has several excellent cross country ski areas including the spectacular Col de Joux Plane and Cirque du Fer a Cheval.
There are also many spectacular walks, and bike routes as well as plentiful climbing and rafting opportunuties in spring and summer.
Lake Annecy is just an hour away and certainly worth a visit with its lake side cafes and beautiful architecture. For the more adventurous head to Annecy for paragliding.
Geneva airport is 75mins door to door with regular cheap flights from Bristol airport.
THE GOOD LIFE
At the head of the valley, 6km from Samoens lies a true hidden gem, Sixt-Fer-a-Cheval, one of the most beautiful villages in France (of which there are only five in the French Alps). It is an area of outstanding natural beauty. The village is built on the banks of the River Giffre, centred around a small abbey dating from the 13th century. Buildings in Sixt tend to be of traditional design, a mix of wooden and stone chalets, old farmhouses and ancient buildings.
